Codes of Ethics and Values Statements
A Statement of Organizational Values is derived from an understanding of the current values that are found within the organization's culture and those values that senior management sees as integral to the realization of the organization's mission.
A Code of Ethics translates such a statement of core values into a practical guide for employees at all levels of the organization. Much emphasis must necessarily be placed on ensuring that the Code meets legal requirements of compliance, such as those found in US Federal Sentencing Guidelines and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Beyond the minimum threshold of compliance, however, an opportunity exists to use the development and introduction of the Code as a means to achieve higher levels of organizational performance.
Navran Associates understands the challenge of developing and updating a Code of Ethics that reflects organizational aspirations and achieves employee buy-in. Working closely with the Ethics/Compliance Office or Committee, we obtain senior management input and guide the development and implemention the Code. We pay equal attention to the communication and training activities associated with a new or revised Code.
